Import of second-hand cars
Import of second-hand passenger cars in first quarter of 2023:
March: 73,356 pieces (+1%)
January - March: 189,364 pieces (-4.3%)
For the past 15 months, we have noticed steady declines in imported used car registrations. March this year is the first month after this period in which a slight increase of 1% appeared. Despite this, the car import market closes the first quarter of 2023 with a 10% decrease.
The age of imported cars remains unchanged. Poles continue to import mainly cars that are several years old. The average age of a car imported in the first quarter of 2023 is 12.9 years. Nevertheless, it can be concluded that imports are still resulting in a renewal of the car fleet in Poland. Euro 4 and Euro 5 vehicles predominate among imported cars.
Which makes and models of vehicles are most popular is not surprising. The most popular car makes are: Volkswagen, Ford and Opel. Whilst the most popular models are: Opel Astra, Audi A4 and Volkswagen Golf.
