In August 2023, 4,244 new commercial vehicles over 3.5t were registered, significantly more than a year ago (+62%) and more than in July this year. (+37,3%). In all of 2023 from January to August, there were 24,450 registrations in the truck group, 18% more than in the same period in 2022.
Such large increases are due to changes introduced in the so-called Mobility Package,. As of August 21, 2023, new tachographs, namely smart tachographs (G2V2) version two, are required in new vehicles. This change caused, accelerated vehicle registrations before this date.
