Results and moods of garages, spare parts manufacturers
and distributors after 3 quarters of 2020.
The main topic of the session „Summary of Q1-Q3 2020. Forecast for Q4.”
was, of course, pandemic and its influence on the economy, including the automotive spare parts and garages industry.
Introduction to the discussion was composed of recollection of sales results from March 2020, which is considered to be the first month of pandemic in Poland,
and comparison to results from March 2019. A substantial decrease in the number
of customers in garages was noticed at that time, as well as a decrease
in income of distributors and companies manufacturing for
the independent automotive aftermarket.

Following data presented in the second line, was fresher,
collected in October.
After three quarters of the year, most of the distributors of spare parts recorded decrease in revenues. but the results are not as bad, as one could expect back in spring. Moreover, over one third of surveyed companies recorded increase of revenues. This does not mean good moods which are to be expected before the summary of the whole year.
More than half of distributors are afraid of further drops in sale. It is worth remembering that October analysis was started back before the escalation
of second wave of pandemic. Today the moods of distributors would probably
be even worse.
